Earth Friendly Never Sounded So Good! Unless you've been hanging out with Dick Cheney in an underground bunker in an undisclosed location for the last few months, you will have heard of Al Gore's Live Earth concerts for the environment on 07/07/07. You may have even watched them, along with over 2 billion other viewers.
Better World Club and Universal Music would like to help you keep the party going long after the concerts are over with a Live Earth-inspired contest. Being the smartest and potentially most patient people on the planet, 'Kicking Asphalt' readers are uniquely qualified to tell us:
"What is your idea for the perfect environmentally-friendly CD (music and packaging)?"
The winning suggestion will receive the complete set of Universal Music's "Number 1s" CD compilations, as well as Live Earth performer Melissa Etheridge's Greatest Hits CD (20 CDs total).
10 runners-up will each receive the best of Melissa Etheridge, which includes the Academy Award-winning song "I need to wake up" from An Inconvenient Truth. Universal Music has been kind enough to provide the CD prizes for this contest. All of the prize CDs are packaged using Universal's environmentally-friendly Eco Pak (TM) packing system. The packaging is made of PaperFoam©, which is recyclable and biodegradable. The packaging is also derived from renewable resources like starch, cellulose, and water. Greenhouse gasses emitted during the manufacture of PaperFoam© CD cases are 85-90% lower than standard CD jewel cases.
Submissions are due to Better World Club by 8/10/07. Winners will be announced in the mid-August edition of 'Kicking Asphalt'. Enter as often as you like. More Info on Universal Music's Environmentally-Friendly CDs: |
