Circle Back Music: Reduce, Reuse, and Rock Out We’re big fans of Nashville-based Circle Back Music. Circle Back not only produces and markets music in an environmentally friendly way, but much more importantly, CBM Head Honcho Kelly McCartney is a member of Better World Club (Note To Kelly: We see that you just renewed your membership. Good job!).
Circle Back Music is a socially responsible, non-corporate, cutting-edge music project that provides independent artist support. They act as a 'tastemaker' digital storefront, a full-service record label, and a tour production & booking company all under one roof, thereby eliminating the need for multiple teams. Circle Back Music's focus is on singer-songwriters, but you will find a wide artistic spectrum underneath that umbrella. The company's roster encompasses everything from folk to pop/rock to acoustic soul.
In addition to being artist-friendly, Circle Back Music is also an eco-friendly company certified by Co-op America. Their commitment to promoting change is not only visible in how they approach the music industry; it's in how they operate on a daily basis. Circle Back Music incorporates green business practices through utilizing 100% recycled paper and vegetable-based ink in their CD packaging and sweatshop-free merchandise. They are also urging and assisting artists to tour in bio-diesel vehicles, recycling and conserving energy in day-to-day operations, purchasing carbon offsets, and donating 10% of their net profits to progressive organizations working to affect change. The groups receiving donations in 2007 are Axis of Justice, Honor the Earth, Rock the Earth, Sweatshop Watch, and Women for Women International.
