Summary: I BOUGHT A 2007 HONDA CIVIC SI ON DECEMBER
18, 2006. IN LESS THAN 700 MILES THE CLUTCH BURNED OUT. HONDA
AMERICA AGREED TO PAY FOR THE LABOR TO REPAIR IT, BUT WANTED
ME TO PAY FOR THE PARTS. (ABOUT $300) THEY ALSO AGREED TO
PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR FOR FOUR DAYS WHILE MY CAR WAS BEING
REPAIRED. I SEE NO REASON WHY I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE
PARTS, SINCE I CONSIDER THE PROBLEM TO BE A FACTORY DEFECT.
THE CAR HAS A SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I KNOW HOW TO
DRIVE A STANDARD, AND I'M CONVINCED THAT I DID NOTHING TO
CAUSE THIS PROBLEM.

Summary: THE CONTACT HAS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC WITH AN
ODOMETER READING OF 2400 MILES, WHEN TURNING THE STEERING
WHEEL AT LOW SPEEDS, APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE WILL
ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THE THIS HAPPENED IN FORWARD
AND REVERSE. HE HAS CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY COULD
NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE AND STATED
THAT IT WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT
IT ALWAYS HAPPENED AND BECAME WORSE IN COLD WEATHER.

Summary: AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER COIL RECEIVED DAMAGE
APPARENTLY CAUSED BT A PEBBLE THAT WAS KICKED UP WHILE DRIVING
ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST
HONDA OWNERS FROM THE RESEARCH I'VE DONE, PARTICULARLY WITH
LATE-MODEL HONDAS. THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO PROTECTION AGAINST
SUCH AN EVENT AND THIS PART APPEARS MUCH TOO FRAGILE TO BE
EXPOSED AS IT IS. THE CONDENSER MUST BE REPLACED AND I'M WAITING
TO HEAR FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER WHETHER HE'LL COVER IT UNDER
THE WARRANTY, BUT I'M EXPECTING TO HAVE TO FILE AN INSURANCE
CLAIM.

Summary: THE HONDA CIVIC SI MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAN
BE VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVEN COLD. WHEN
SHIFTING INTO THIRD GEAR THERE IS FEELING THAT THE GEAR ISN'T
ALL THE WAY IN. WHEN THE CLUTCH IS RELEASED THE GEAR WILL
POP OUT. THIS PROBLEM IS ALSO COMMON IN OTHER HONDA VEHICLE'S
SUCH AS THE RSX. THIS PROBLEM INCREASES THE CHANCES OF BEING
REAR ENDED AND ALSO PUTS TREMENDOUS WEAR ON THE TRANSMISSION
AS THE GEAR POPS AND GRINDS. HONDA SERVICE TELLS ME THAT ITS
IS MY DRIVING THAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM BUT OVER A THOUSAND
THREADS HAS BEEN POSTED ONLINE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. HONDA HAS
DONE NOTHING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM EXCEPT CALL US POOR DRIVERS.

LX WAS REGISTERING THE WRONG MILEAGE ON THE ODOMETER. THE
CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND WAS INFORMED
THAT THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH ODOMETER. THEY INFORMED HER
THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT GOING ON, BUT HER VEHICLE
DIDN'T APPLY. THE LAWSUIT WAS FOR CONSUMERS WITH ODOMETER
PROBLEMS. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE PART
OF THE LAW SUIT. SHE STATED THAT THE ODOMETER READING IN THE
VEHICLE WAS 750 MILES, WHICH WAS NOT ACCURATE.

Summary: A/C STOPPED COOLING. TOOK MY '07 CIVIC (FEWER
THAN 6500 MILES) TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD A ROCK
DAMAGED MY CONDENSER. REPAIRS ARE ESTIMATED AT $550. GOT THE
BEST WARRANTY I COULD WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR AND IT STILL WON'T
COVER IT DUE TO "PHYSICAL DAMAGE". AFTER SOME RESEARCH
ON THE TOPIC, I'VE NOTICED COUNTLESS WEBSITES AND BLOGS CONCERNING
THIS ISSUE. SEEMS LIKE A TEXTBOOK DESIGN FLAW TO ME. I CAN'T
BELIEVE HONDA, WHO "STANDS FOR QUALITY" WOULD LIKE
SOMETHING LIKE THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. I'M
GOING WITH THE CAMRY NEXT TIME.

Summary: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT
NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE NEVER BECAME WARM. THE VEHICLE WAS
IDLING HIGH WHICH RESULTED IN CHANGING GEARS AT 45 MPH ALSO,
THE VEHICLE MADE A BUMPING NOISE. THE CONTACT HAD TO CHANGE
GEARS AND ACTIVATE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO DECELERATE.
THE HONDA DEALER PLACED THE VEHICLE ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE
AND DETERMINED THE HIGH IDLING FAILURE, BUT COULD NOT REPAIR
THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE ANOTHER VEHICLE OF THE SAME
YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL AND THAT VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY FAILURE.
THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE COMPUTER, WHICH DID NOT HAVE
A SENSOR, CONTROLLED THE IDLE SPEED. THIS WAS THE REASON WHY
THEY COULD NOT ASSIST HER. IN ADDITION, THE TECHNICIAN DID
NOT TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE, AND ONLY RELIED ON THE INFORMATION
FROM THE COMPUTER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 615, AND FAILURE
MILEAGE WAS 23.

Summary: THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION SHIFTS BADLY, AND
THERE HAVE BEEN OCCASIONS WHEN IT WON'T GO INTO GEAR. ALSO,
WHEN COLD, AND IN LOWER GEARS, IT IS VERY HESITANT AND CHOPPY.
I BELIEVE IT'S THE THROTTLE. THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW OCCASIONS
WHEN I'VE STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND IT'S TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD.
HONDA SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS CAR. THEY TREAT
ME AS IF I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE.
