About BWC:

Getting roadside assistance. We're nothing like AAA or any other auto club. We have the same reliable emergency roadside assistance, but we have a unique policy agenda.

We are not part of the Highway Lobby.

We have supported the McCain-Lieberman Climate Stewardship Act and all subsequent and related efforts by members of the U.S. government to cap greenhouse gas emissions.

We have supported California's efforts to win an EPA waiver in order to independently regulate automobiles to fight global warming. (Read more in Kicking Asphalt.)

We support higher fuel economy standards.

We support the use of highway tax dollars for mass transit.

We believe that the government should establish a goal of getting us off foreign oil in 10 years.

We don't fight bike paths. (But AAA does.)

We offer discounts on hybrid rental cars.

We offer discounts on eco-travel.

We help fight global warming by offering our members free carbon offsets when they purchase airline tickets through Better World Travel and when they purchase Better World Insurance.

We can help you register your car online.

We donate 1% of our revenues toward environmental cleanup and advocacy.

We have the nation's only nationwide bicycle roadside assistance.
